Nydia McAdams Henry born October 1, 1928 in Winter Garden, Florida passed away peacefully to be with her Lord while her children were at her side on Friday January 5, 2018. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 53 years Rev. James B. Henry and her brother Rev. Claude McAdams.
Nydia left home in 1946 to attend Carson Newman College in Tennessee to "follow God's call to be a preacher's wife". She fulfilled that calling and her dream for the next 60 plus years. She served alongside her husband at churches in Tennessee...

Nydia McAdams Henry born October 1, 1928 in Winter Garden, Florida passed away peacefully to be with her Lord while her children were at her side on Friday January 5, 2018. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 53 years Rev. James B. Henry and her brother Rev. Claude McAdams.
Nydia left home in 1946 to attend Carson Newman College in Tennessee to "follow God's call to be a preacher's wife". She fulfilled that calling and her dream for the next 60 plus years. She served alongside her husband at churches in Tennessee and Fort Worth, Texas before coming to Florida in 1957. While in Florida they served at Pine Hills Baptist Church in Pine Hills, Bethany Baptist Church in Plant City, First Baptist Church of Seffner and Laurel Hills Baptist Church in the Pine Hills area. During this time Nydia taught piano lessons, lead choirs, taught English to migrant workers wives, served on state committees and performed a multitude of "preacher wife "duties. After her husband's retirement, she was part of the office staff at First Baptist Church in Winter Garden, taught Sunday school classes, and led the Women's Missionary Union (WMU) programs.
She leaves behind her daughter Julia (Dennis) Carroll of Plant City, Florida and son Rev. David (Tempy) Henry of Winter Garden and Jacksonville, Florida. Five grandchildren Justin McQuaig, Emily McQuaig, Dennis (Heather) Carroll Jr.; Catheleen (John) Halfmann and Caitlyn (Hunter) Dorriety. Great grandchildren Noah and Ivyanna Carroll. One niece Ann (Aaron) Cheatham and one nephew Orville (Peggy) Donahoo Jr. and their families.
