Kathleen McGinnis Poston, age 87, of Orlando Florida, died on Thursday, September 7, 2017, with her family by her side.

She was born in Lynchburg Virginia and was one of seven children to William and Bessie McGinnis. She graduated from E.C. Glass High School and later went on to marry Cecil Weinman Poston in 1951 and enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2011. After living from one end of the country in Virginia to San Diego California, she settled with Cecil in Florida in 1961 where she remained for the rest of her life. Affectionally called "Kitty", she worked as a Telephone operator for several years before landing her dream job as a Hotel and Hospitality teacher at Mid Florida Technical Institute, where she loved teaching and getting to know her students during the 24 years at the school. She retired in 1992 when she relocated to Clermont Florida and later to Vero Beach Florida before returning to Orlando in 2012.

Kitty was always a pleasure to be around and loved to entertain the neighborhood kids, enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. Known for her southern hospitality and accent, she always made everyone feel welcome and loved.

Kitty is survived by 4 children: Cathleen Lindberg, Orlando, Cecilia Ortiz, LaQuinta California, Kevin Poston, Orlando and Valerie Bunting, Tavares Florida. She is also survived by one Granddaughter, Sara Lindberg and one great grandson, Easton Lumbert.

Kitty will be laid to rest by her family in a private graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
