Obituary


It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we want to inform the death Gary Lynn Oerther. On September 12, 2016, after a long hard fight with cancer, Gary went to be with the Lord. Gary was given by the Lord, to the late Mildred (Roberts) and Alden Oerther, on January 23, 1942. Gary grew up in Monroe, Michigan; He graduated from Davis Business College in 1962 and began working with computers. But, Gary's entrepreneurial spirit led him to a career as a McDonald's Owner/Operator.

It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we want to inform the death Gary Lynn Oerther. On September 12, 2016, after a long hard fight with cancer, Gary went to be with the Lord. Gary was given by the Lord, to the late Mildred (Roberts) and Alden Oerther, on January 23, 1942. Gary grew up in Monroe, Michigan; He graduated from Davis Business College in 1962 and began working with computers. But, Gary's entrepreneurial spirit led him to a career as a McDonald's Owner/Operator.

Gary was a passionate man, and enjoyed life on every level, especially with his wife, best friend, and soul mate Jeanie. Their love for each other was evident and inspiring to all. The twinkle in their eye let you know they were more in love each day, than the day before. Together they traveled the world, explored all the wonders near and far, and created a spectacular life story along the way. While always landing in his favorite place, with his favorite girl, in Maui, where they were married over 36 years ago.

Gary who was survived by his wife, was also the proud father of his two sons Gregg (Dorothy) Oerther, Jon (Raquel) Siegel, and his daughter, Kim (Oerther) Law; in addition Gary was honored to be the grandfather of Travis, Cody, and Emily Oerther; James and Erica Siegel; Kristen Callaway, Katie Rose, and Christopher Law; and in awe to be great-grandfather of Kaden Oerther; He also has two sisters, Sally (Jim) Pritchett and Brenda (Ray) Chandonnet; his brother,Tom (Dana) Oerther; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Gary provided a glowing example of how to live life, through a commitment to professional and personal excellence, and impeccable integrity. He touched the world in a positive light in so many ways, leaving a legacy of joy, class, and love wherever and with whomever he traveled. Gary's memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of all he touched.

Gary served as an inspiration to many, and his vision will live on through his wife Jeanie, his sons Gregg and Jon, and the entire Oerther family. He was beloved by the community and the extended McDonald's family. Gary will be dearly missed.
